Motorists Should Expect Daytime and Weekend Lane Closures
SHA’s contractor, Allan Myers, Inc. of Fallston, will patch, grind (remove the top layer of asphalt), resurface and restripe Jarrettsville Pike. Motorists should expect daytime single-lane closures weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Saturdays between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Crews will use cones, barrels and flaggers to guide motorists through the work zone.
Nearly 14,400 motorists use this section of MD 146 each day so travelers should plan extra travel time during construction hours. To avoid construction delays, motorists could use MD 165 (Baldwin Mill Road) to MD 152 (Fallston Road) to reach White Hall and Jarrettsville.
While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands.
A complete listing of current roadway projects is included in
e-Road Ready 2016, the online brochure. Maryland drivers can also know before they go by calling 511 or visiting
