(June 9, 2015) – Weather permitting, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will continue repairs to the Thomas Johnson Bridge between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. through the end of the week. Crews must alternate traffic using a flagging operation in order to perform the work.
Crews last night repaired the fence; for the next three nights crews will repair the roadway surface with concrete patches. SHA thanks motorists for their patience during the flagging operation. Drivers shoud allow extra travel time during the flagging operation.
While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes.
Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
