This rustic wooden-beam bridge, no longer extant, is a type once found in abundance in the quiet, low-lying Tidewater region. As traffic increased, most rural timber bridges were replaced. Today a prestressed concrete bridge, built in 1991, takes MD 335 over the Blackwater River.
