Work Requires Right-Lane Closure on South Jefferson Street; Northbound US 15 Exit Lane will Remain Open
(December 4, 2024) – The State Highway Administration will repair 100 feet of the concrete median on
northbound US 15 at South Jefferson Street in Frederick County on December 16 and 17, postponed from December 9. The repairs could take three days to complete, weather permitting.
Drivers can expect a right-lane closures and a narrowed exit lane to safely perform work. The exit lane to continue onto northbound US 15 will remain open during the work. Crews will work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The start date may change depending on weather. This project requires dry conditions on the roadway.
The project will remove the first 100 feet of the existing median, construct a new median, improve drainage and install new flexible delineators atop the median to guide motorists through the roadway.
The State Highway Administration will use electronic message boards, signs, barrels and cones to notify motorists about the work zone and lane closure.
