Overnight “Rolling” Closures for Transport of Heavy Transformer through Harford County

(August 2, 2016) -- Weather permitting, beginning Monday, August 8 at 9 p.m., a heavy move convoy escorted by Maryland State Police and personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will depart from Vulcan Quarry, Havre de Grace and travel to Delta, PA using the following routes:

First Night (August 8) - Westbound MD 155, I-95 interchange ramps and median crossover, northbound MD 161, southbound US 1, northbound MD 136 to Dublin United Methodist Church Lot (arriving prior to 5 a.m. and remaining in place until 9 p.m. August 9.)

Second Night (August 9) - northbound MD 136, westbound MD 440, northbound MD 543, and northbound MD 165.  The convoy will reach its final stop in Maryland near the Pennsylvania state line by 5 a.m. August 10.  Pennsylvania State Police will meet the convoy and provide an escort into Pennsylvania on August 10.

The convoy will travel overnight and plans to be off all highways prior to 5 a.m.  In case of inclement weather, the convoy will proceed on the next possible night.
