SHA owns and maintains all non-toll, numbered roads in Maryland's 23 counties such as I-495 (the Capital Beltway), MD 355 (Rockville Pike) and US 40 (Baltimore National Pike). Roads without a number are maintained by the county or municipality. Toll roads (including I-95, the Bay Bridge and the Fort McHenry Tunnel) are owned and maintained by the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA).

 

HIGHWAY EMERGENCIES:

Report all highway emergency situations not requiring police assistance, such as traffic signal outages or sinkholes to our Statewide Operations Center toll free at 1-800-543-2515 or locally at 410-582-5650.

 

NON-EMERGENCIES:

Submit a non-emergency SHA concern/issue using the SERVICE REQUEST FORM.
